

Dr. Angel Rafael Braña-López
Health IT scientist, specialist in public health and preventive medicine, lifestyle coach, yoga instructor, Breath-Body-Mind program teacher and Primary Health Care Systems consultant.
Dr. Angel Braña is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, and a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. He also practices the subspecialty of Medical Informatics. He studied medicine in Zaragoza, Spain, obtained a Master of Public Health in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and a Master of Science in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He retired as CAPTAIN of the United States Public Health Service after more than 28 years of service in clinically underserved areas where he worked as clinical and executive director at Community Health Centers in Puerto Rico and in various leadership positions in Washington DC and Texas.
Dr. Braña is an independent consultant for primary health care systems (planning, development and outcome evaluation) including bio/psychosocial integrated healthcare, patient medical home, community/migrant/rural health, HIV/AIDS care and treatment. AIDS and perinatal, school and adolescent health services. He has been a consultant in the Dominican Republic, Panama, Africa and China. He is a Public Health Advisor at PACEMD, Guanajuato, Mexico (https://www.pacemd.org/). For years he has taught medical students for various medical schools and currently teaches Public Health Informatics at the San Juan Bautista Medical Schools in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Braña is a certified acupuncturist and yoga and Tai Chi instructor who trains people to manage chronic pain based on seminal studies at Boston Medical Center. He is a certified instructor of Voluntary Regulated Breathing Practices under the rubric of "Breath-Body-Mind.com; an evidence-based program to increase awareness of the healing power of the breath to improve physical and mental health.
Dr. Braña has a long list of presentations and participation in national and international committees dealing with primary health care, cultural competence, health policy and social entrepreneurship. He has been recognized with multiple awards, among the most significant: the Exemplary Service Award from the Surgeon General of the United States and the Juan Carlos Finlay Award from his Hispanic Advisory Committee, Distinguished Student of the Graduate School of Public Health of the Medical Sciences Campus from the University of Puerto Rico and the Research Award from the Master's program in Bio-Medical Informatics at the NOVA School of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft Lauderdale, Florida.

PRESENTATION: Exploring harmonies: music, breathing and focus on creativity

I will focus on integrating breath, body, mind and music technology for holistic well-being: I will demonstrate some simple breathing exercises and gentle Chi Gong movements to promote relaxation and energy flow and explain how filtered music improves experience. . , focusing on mindfulness and inner peace (adding music samples and their relaxing effects during creative processes).
At the end, participants can ask questions and reflect on their experience and discuss how they can integrate these practices into their daily lives to achieve greater balance and well-being, while pushing the limits of creative expression.
